Job description

A leading regional referral center in Alabama, is seeking additional Internal Medicine-trained Hospitalists to join its growing, hospital-employed program. With over 30 board-certified Hospitalists on staff, the program provides full-time day and nocturnist coverage with a 7-on/7-off schedule and excellent specialty support.


This high-volume, team-based practice offers you the tools and support to focus on inpatient care - no procedures, no call, and 24/7 sub-specialist coverage. Position Highlights
  • Hospital-employed model with a group of 30+ Internal Medicine-trained Hospitalists

  • 7-on/7-off schedule | 12-hour shifts | Day and night shifts available

  • Average census: 15 - 20 patients per provider (day shift)

  • No procedures required | Full intensivist co-management

  • Manage adult inpatients, including ED admits, transfers, and consults

  • Clinical Decision Unit and dedicated floors for general medicine

  • 24/7 subspecialty support including in-house radiology, neurosurgery, pulmonary/critical care

  • Full access to EPIC EMR and data-driven throughput strategies

  • Opportunity to pick up extra shifts and earn shift differential for nights

  • No call requirement | 15 shifts per month on average

  • Supported by an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine and Transitional Year residency 


Practice Environment
  • 420-bed tertiary referral center and Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) campus

  • Regional catchment area of 450,000+ across AL, GA, and FL

  • Advanced imaging: PET, 3T MRI, 64-slice CT, interventional radiology

  • Full spectrum of specialist support including neurosurgery, EP cardiology, and pain management
