Software Engineer II, Reporting & Fulfillment (On-Site)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Reporting and Fulfillment team, focused on building and maintaining reporting solutions and data export utilities that support DMV operations across multiple jurisdictions. This role is database-driven, requiring solid experience with SQL Server, T‑SQL, stored procedures and views, and SSIS to produce reliable outputs consumed by government clients and internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has working experience with VB.NET and ASP.NET Web Forms and brings attention to data accuracy and a willingness to learn within complex legacy environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and data export utilities using SQL Server, T‑SQL, and stored procedures and views
  • Build and maintain SSIS packages for data transformation, extraction, and scheduled export workflows
  • Develop and support backend application logic using VB.NET and ASP.NET Web Forms
  • Write and tune SQL queries and stored procedures and views with attention to performance, accuracy, and maintainability
  • Collaborate with product, QA, and technical operations teams to define report requirements and validate output accuracy
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies and production issues across the database and application layers
  • Maintain and improve existing reporting infrastructure while supporting production stability
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices
  • Leverage SQL Jobs and SQL CLR where appropriate to support automated and scheduled processing

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of professional software development experience, with meaningful exposure to reporting or data export work
  • Working experience with SQL Server, T‑SQL, stored procedures and views, and query writing
  • Experience building or maintaining SSIS packages for ETL or data export workflows is a plus.
  • Experience developing applications in VB.NET and ASP.NET Web Forms
  • Experience working in production environments where data accuracy and reliability matter
  • Exposure to SQL Jobs for scheduled processing within SQL Server is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL CLR is a plus
  • Comfortable participating in code reviews and following team development standards
  • Familiarity with modern AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Microsoft Copilot)
