Job description

Description:

Join our team as a skilled Audio Visual (AV) Specialist to provide on-site operational support, sustainment, and technical expertise for classroom audiovisual systems within the USAFCOEFS environment. This role is critical to ensuring fully functional, mission-ready classroom technologies that support training, simulations, and command events.


The AV Specialist will maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance installed AV systems, support live events, and ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and networked solutionsโ€”including Microsoft Teams-enabled video conferencing. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on AV experience, troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven government environment.


The scope is to provide end-to-end audiovisual support across USAFCOEFS classrooms and event spaces, including system sustainment, troubleshooting, event support, asset management, and customer trainingโ€”ensuring reliable, high-quality, and mission-ready AV capabilities.


Key Responsibilities


1. AV Systems Operations & Sustainment

Provide daily operational support and sustainment for installed classroom AV systems, including:

โ€ข Projectors, audio systems, control systems, and AV racks

โ€ข Network-connected AV and Teams-enabled conferencing systems

โ€ข Routine system checks to ensure full operational readiness

Maintain:

โ€ข Daily logs of tasks, customer requests, and system issues

โ€ข Common Operating Picture (COP) of all FCP classrooms

โ€ข Weekly inventory of AV equipment and repair parts

Perform:

โ€ข Preventative maintenance (cleaning, filter/lamp replacement, inspections)

โ€ข Equipment repairs and component replacement as required

โ€ข Troubleshooting using wiring diagrams and signal flow schematics


2. Service Management & Reporting

โ€ข Track and manage workload using Army Enterprise Service Management Platform (AESMP)

โ€ข Create and manage tickets in SharePoint and FCP repositories

โ€ข Monitor all tickets through resolution and closure

โ€ข Provide daily, weekly, and monthly status reports to the COR

โ€ข Document equipment usage, repairs, and part replacements

Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs):

โ€ข Classroom requests: 2-hour response / 4-hour resolution

โ€ข General requests: 4-hour response / 8-hour resolution


3. Event & Operational Support

Support AV requirements for ceremonies, training, and events, including:

โ€ข Change-of-command ceremonies, retirements, and official functions

โ€ข Conferences, presentations, and multi-day events

Responsibilities include:

โ€ข Coordinating with customers to determine AV requirements

โ€ข Conducting site surveys (power, layout, acoustics)

โ€ข Transporting, setting up, configuring, and operating AV equipment

โ€ข Monitoring and adjusting audio/video quality during events

Produce:

โ€ข Audio products and recordings for official events

โ€ข High-quality sound and visual outputs using mixers and equalizers


4. Customer Support & Training

โ€ข Serve as primary AV support representative for classrooms and events

โ€ข Provide hands-on assistance and troubleshooting for users

โ€ข Deliver training and briefings on AV systems and instructional technologies

โ€ข Coordinate with technical support teams to resolve complex issues


5. Equipment & Asset Management

โ€ข Maintain accountability of AV equipment, repair parts, and inventory

โ€ข Manage AV loaner program (issue, track, receive equipment)

โ€ข Document shipping/receiving of AV components, including packaging and labeling

โ€ข Track usage of consumables (e.g., projector bulbs) by classroom


Requirements:

โ€ข DoD Secret Clearance

โ€ข Compliance with DoD cybersecurity and information assurance policies

โ€ข Ability to safeguard Government systems, equipment, and facilities

โ€ข Knowledge of handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Audio Visual Technology, IT, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)

โ€ข 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting AV systems and live events

โ€ข AV hardware (projectors, audio systems, mixers, control systems)

โ€ข Video conferencing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams)

โ€ข AV signal flow, wiring, and schematics interpretation

โ€ข Basic networking concepts related to AV systems

โ€ข Experience supporting live events and presentations

โ€ข Ability to manage multiple service requests in a fast-paced environment

โ€ข Strong communication and customer support skills


Preferred Qualifications

โ€ข Experience in DoD or government training environments

โ€ข Familiarity with SharePoint and AESMP ticketing systems
