Job Description - AV Producer
Brief Description
The Producer is a key operational role responsible for executing events of moderate complexity within their primary service while developing functional proficiency in a second service through cross-training. This role supports Senior Producers in delivering high-quality events, supervises Coordinators and independent contractors during busy seasons, and ensures client satisfaction through technical expertise and professional execution. The Producer plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, contributing to team development, and advancing their skills to prepare for leadership roles. The ideal candidate is a technically adept, organized professional with strong teamwork skills and a commitment to learning across services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Event Planning and Execution (70%)
Manage specific components of AV event production, including:
- Oversee setup, operation, and strike of audio, video, lighting, staging and scenic systems; coordinate with venue staff for vehicle loading requirements, power, internet, and rigging needs.
- Execute event tasks according to production plans, ensuring timely setup, operation, and breakdown.
- Perform a high level client communication.
- Assist Senior Producers in complex, multi-service events, applying cross-trained skills in a secondary service..
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and TWST staff during events, addressing concerns and ensuring deliverables meet expectations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during events (e.g., audio feedback, streaming lag) under Senior Producer or Director guidance.
- Assist with event planning, including preparing equipment lists, staffing schedules, and technical checklists.
- Maintain and organize service-specific equipment, reporting any maintenance needs to Service Directors.
- Document event details (e.g., setup configurations, issues encountered) for post-event reports.
- Stay updated on service-specific technologies and best practices to enhance event delivery.
Team Support and Supervision (20%)
- Supervise Coordinators and independent contractors during events, delegating tasks and ensuring adherence to company standards.
- Provide on-the-job training to Coordinators, focusing on technical skills and event protocols.
- Collaborate with Senior Producers and other Producers to coordinate multi-service events (e.g., combining webcasting and AV for hybrid events).
- Participate in post-event debriefs, providing feedback on team performance and event outcomes.
- Support Senior Producers in mentoring staff and reinforcing cross-training goals.
Cross-Training and Skill Development (10%)
- Actively participate in cross-training to achieve functional proficiency in a second service within 6–12 months (e.g., a webcasting producer learning AV setup).
- Example: Producer in AV should be capable of supporting basic webcasting tasks, such as configuring a Zoom stream or managing audio inputs.
- Attend cross-training workshops and shadow events in secondary services to build skills.
- Apply cross-trained skills during events to support flexibility and resource allocation.
- Provide feedback to Service Directors on cross-training program effectiveness.
Education and Experience
- Experience: 2-3 years in live event production, with proficiency in AV.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with audio mixers, lighting consoles, video switchers, and scenic set pieces.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments and supervise junior staff or contractors.
- Problem-Solving: Capability to address technical or logistical challenges during events with minimal supervision.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for client interactions, team coordination, and reporting.
- Availability: Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel for onsite events.

Requirements
- Understand A/V signal flow and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of digital and analog mixing boards, wireless systems, audio/visual hardware, software & signal flows
- Create a clean, professional presentation of our equipment
- Research and develop new skills
- Be pleasant and energetic early in the morning
- Interact with clients face to face
- Navigate service hallways and freight elevators at high-end hotel and event venues
- Travel to midtown Manhattan by 6 AM or earlier
- Travel out of state via Airplane or Provided Transportation
- Report client feedback and potential product requests
- Unpack/setup/test/run/break down of broadcast and audio visual equipment
- Ability to lift 50lbs+
- Work onsite frequently (Locations nationwide)

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 (within Market Rate for the role)
Bonus: Discretionary Bonus Eligible - Annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
