An Auxiliary Operator Trainee assists in the operation and maintenance of power plant equipment, such as boilers, turbines, and auxiliary systems. They work under the supervision of experienced operators to monitor equipment, perform routine inspections, and learn to respond to alarms or system changes. The trainee role is designed to provide hands-on experience and prepare individuals for more advanced operator positions. Typical duties may also include recording operational data, performing minor maintenance tasks, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Auxiliary Operator Trainees often encounter challenges such as quickly learning complex equipment systems, adapting to shift work schedules, and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. The fast-paced environment requires strong attention to detail and the ability to respond calmly to unexpected situations.
