St. George Auto Gallery Service is hiring an Automotive Service Advisor / Writer for our growing 10-bay service center in St. George, Utah.
We are looking for someone who can build trust with customers, clearly present repair recommendations, and keep the repair process organized from check-in through vehicle delivery. Previous service-writing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who has strong sales ability, automotive knowledge, and the ability to learn quickly.
Compensation

Expected annual earnings range from $70,000 to $110,000, depending on experience, performance, sales, and gross-profit production.
We offer two compensation options:
  • Base pay plus commission
  • Higher-upside straight commission
The complete pay plans will be reviewed during the interview so candidates can choose the structure that best fits their experience and performance level.
Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Regular hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Service advisors alternate Saturdays
  • When working a Saturday, the advisor may choose another day off during that week
Saturday traffic provides an additional opportunity to serve customers because we are one of the few nearby repair facilities open close to the freeway.
Benefits

  • Paid vacation and PTO
  • Paid sick leave
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Employee discounts
  • Supportive, friendly work environment
  • Established customer traffic and continued growth
Responsibilities

  • Greet customers professionally and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns.
  • Accurately document symptoms, requested services, and customer information.
  • Prepare and present repair and maintenance recommendations in a clear, honest, and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Consistently sell needed services without sacrificing honesty or customer trust.
  • Manage repair orders from customer check-in through final vehicle delivery.
  • Provide customers with timely updates regarding inspections, estimates, approvals, parts, and completion times.
  • Obtain and document customer authorization before repairs are performed.
  • Coordinate with technicians, parts personnel, dispatch, and support staff to keep work moving efficiently.
  • Research vehicle-specific information and assist with parts ordering when needed.
  • Review completed repairs and invoices with customers before vehicle delivery.
  • Follow up with customers regarding declined work and future service needs.
  • Coordinate complimentary customer shuttle transportation when needed.
  • Maintain accurate repair-order notes and customer records in Tekmetric.
  • Help produce strong total sales and gross profit while delivering an excellent customer experience.
  • Assist other team members and perform related duties as needed.
What We Offer

St. George Auto Gallery Service is connected to a large used-car dealership, creating several reliable sources of work:
  • Established retail service customers
  • Customers returning after purchasing vehicles from our dealership
  • Consistent dealership reconditioning work
  • New customers generated through ongoing marketing
  • Strong Saturday traffic from our location near the freeway
Our facility has 10 service bays, six technicians, modern equipment, and some of the most talented master technicians in the area. A master technician assists with dispatching work, allowing service advisors to spend more time helping customers and selling repairs.
We also have support staff who assist with warranties and vehicle service contracts, including submissions and communication with warranty representatives. This keeps advisors from getting buried in repetitive administrative work.
We use Tekmetric to provide digital inspections, communicate with customers, track declined work, and create a smoother repair experience. Customer financing options are also available for larger repair bills.
We are locally owned, growing, and expanding. Our workplace is friendly and relaxed while still focused on performance and customer service. Employee turnover is low because we want good people to stay and make an effort to take care of our team.
Qualifications

  • Previous automotive service-advisor or service-writing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Automotive knowledge and parts experience are strongly preferred.
  • Candidates without direct service-writing experience must demonstrate strong sales skills, customer-service ability, and the ability to learn automotive systems quickly.
  • Strong verbal, phone, and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting repair recommendations and asking customers for approval.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple customers and repair orders simultaneously.
  • Dependable and able to maintain a brisk pace in a high-volume environment.
  • Comfortable using Windows-based software and automotive shop applications.
  • Tekmetric experience is a plus.
  • Positive, accountable, and able to work well with technicians and support staff.
