Job description

Control Tower Field Quality Engineer's are responsible for leading and managing the resolution of warranty issues, with an emphasis on problem-solving, root cause analysis, and validation. This role requires a proactive approach to tackling quality concerns, driving improvements, and ensuring the efficient resolution of warranty-related issues. They will work closely with dealers, suppliers, and internal teams to confirm issues, propose solutions, and track progress in delivering resolutions This position requires knowledge expertise in one or more of the following advanced electronics systems areas: Power Distribution, Starting & Charging, and Wiring.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (product development, supplier quality, and manufacturing) to implement corrective actions.
• Comfortable leading complex electrical component & systems problem root cause analysis
• Conduct vehicle reviews as necessary at offsite locations, such as engineering centers, dealers, and assembly plants, to identify and confirm the root cause
• Responsible for proposing solutions, validating their effectiveness, and monitoring progress to ensure timely resolution
• Ensure that relevant service actions are defined and implemented to resolve warranty issues, including Parts Purge, Service Bulletins, Tech Tips, Rapid Service Updates, and more
• Adopt a lessons-learned mindset to apply insights across vehicle applications, ensuring they are shared throughout the Stellantis vehicle landscape to proactively prevent issues in future vehicle models
• Provide regular updates on warranty-related quality issues, progress on GIMs, and resolution status at necessary quality and leadership meetings.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited University (preferably electrical engineering)
  • 5+ years of proven background in vehicle electronics hardware and/or software, including experience in automotive product design release, resident engineering, or component manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated expertise in solving problems through advanced root cause analysis tools and techniques
  • Strong analytical skills to identify patterns, trends with data analytics tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively suppliers, dealers, internal teams and all levels of management
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier quality
  • Strong customer-oriented mindset
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery of solutions
  • Ability to travel within the USA 10% of the time as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable in APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA
  • Masters in Engineering
  • Shainin RedX Black Belt
  • Green Belt / Kepner Tregoe
  • Design for Six Sigma
  • Project Management
