Job Title: Automotive Mechanic Senior

Location: Livonia, MI

Job Summary:

The Automotive Mechanic Senior will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic Senior mentors and oversees team member"s technical deliverables to ensure Client and customer standards are met.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
  • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers.
  • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
  • Lead daily shop organization and clean-up.


Education and Experience (required):

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others.
  • Has own tools with rolling toolbox.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures.


Education and Experience (preferred):

  • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.
  • State Mechanic Certification(s).
  • Valid driver"s license.
  • Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekend
