Job description

Jiffy Lube Technician-Mechanics perform our Signature Service Oil Change, routine preventative maintenance, vehicle diagnostics, testing, and replacing worn and defective parts.  This is an important job in our Jiffy Lube stores and critical to our success. And every J-Team member receives comprehensive training from Jiffy Lube University, our award-winning training program. We even offer Ace Accreditation of up to 32 college credits for completion and certification of Jiffy Lube University courses.

However, if you’re concerned that we only perform fluid and preventative maintenance, well, we expanded our core business to include major and minor repair service from tires to brakes, engine performance, suspension and electrical to name a few.

Qualifications

Previous experience is required with a minimum of 1-year working for a dealership, automotive shop, tire center, or quick lube. ASE certification is a plus, but must have experience inspecting, servicing, and repairing most major automotive systems 

Job Duties Include, but are not limited to…

  • Perform Jiffy Lube Signature Service oil change
  • Inspect and service fluids, filters, lights, wipers, tires, and other minor services
  • Test, diagnose, and repair engines, brakes, suspensions, tires, and drivetrains
  • Test ODBII computer and electrical systems, diagnose, and communicate any repairs recommended

Physical Qualifications

  • Must be able to operate equipment such as overhead and floor mounted oil and grease guns, transmission machine, air conditioner service machine, radiator service machine, hand tools and basic shop equipment
  • Must be able to lift and move work-related items up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, and turn head-neck-shoulders as needed
