Bilingual Safety and Training Coordinator – (English/Spanish)
The Safety and Training Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager and is responsible for coordinating and supporting weekly safety training, quality and environmental activities.

NX Automotive Logistics USA, Inc. (NXAL) Operations Departments operate in a warehouse, or a manufacturing environment and associates are subject to moderate amounts of dust, dirt, and odors, primarily produced by packaging materials and the operation of propane-powered forklifts as well as noise primarily produced by production equipment. Temperatures during the year will vary. Frequently operate a computer, read, write and interact with others in person, over the phone and via other devices. They move about within the facility and may travel to other locations.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the implementation of an effective safety/quality program that will prevent accidents, injuries and service failures.
  • Leads efforts for continuous improvement and company safety vision.
  • Coordinate and Deliver the Safety/Environmental/Corporate Training for all new associate orientation or as needed.
  • Provide safety/process/quality/environmental audits for potentially hazardous conditions and unsafe behaviors also using ergonomic assessment as needed.
  • Support with selection of appropriate safety equipment, Powered Industrial Vehicle certification and PPE for associates.
  • Promote a proactive, positive safety and quality culture through effective communication, coaching and engagement with associates and leadership.
  • Regularly interact with managers, supervisors, associates and customers to identify and correct unsafe conditions or work practices.
  • Maintain and utilize Intelex incident management system and Intelex Training Management Retention.
  • Follow up with reviews and approve changes to ensure compliance with safety and quality objections.
  • Continuously reviews, analyzes data and evaluates the work organization environment, and conducts process audits to identify safety and quality risks that the department is facing and recommends remedial action to mitigate identified risks.
  • Provide Leadership in department First Aid program including serving as first response for medical treatment of injured associates and training of Emergency Response Team members.
  • Supports Emergency Action Drills, Fire and Tornado.
  • Organizes and develops training for associates (PIV, process, safety, etc.)
  • Help with investigating any safety incidents (pictures and countermeasures), daily safety audits with leadership.
  • Performs other duties in or out of the department as needed and as directed by the Management team
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a safety role within manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Preferable knowledge of OSHA regulations ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ANSI and related Safety/Quality standards.
  • Ability to analyze safety situations and make sound decisions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lead companywide safety projects
  • Ability to understand and implement strategic plans
  • Experience developing safety training materials and training associates and leadership on safety programs.
  • Microsoft office proficient, Intermediate computer skills
  • Obtained or working towards CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong problem-solving skills and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish required.
