Apprenticeships start at $20 to $30 an hour- 40-hour work weeks. (MUST HAVE TOOLS)

Position Overview:

A Diesel Mechanic, or Diesel Service Technician, inspects, diagnoses and repairs diesel-powered vehicles and machines, like trucks, forklifts and trailers. Their main duties include running diagnostic tests on vehicles, replacing the vehicles' engine, transmission, steering mechanism or braking system and test driving the vehicle to determine if they properly fixed the maintenance issue.

Essential Functions:

  • Document all work performed and recommended on the assigned repair order.
  • Perform accurate and efficient repairs on warrantied vehicles that have experienced a manufacturer recall.
  • Communicate with the Service Manager when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be performed within the agreed time.
  • Conduct road tests to determine the work required and to confirm work was accurately completed.
  • Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles.
  • Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services.
  • Utilize product and technical training as assigned by the manufacturer and management.
  • Maintain technician proficiency
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Values in all customer interactions, co-workers, and vendors

Who You Are:

  • Dependable/ reliable and can work independently with minimal supervision

  • Adaptable/flexible - enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction

  • Detail-oriented – highly focused on the details and quality of work

  • Willing to learn with a minimum of 1 year of automotive experience (Dealership or Independent Repair shop)

  • A team player and interact with managers and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner

  • Can function effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment

Requirements:

  • Previous (2+ years) of diesel automotive technician experience

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a favorable motor vehicle record

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances

  • Authorized to work in the United States

Company Description

ELITE AUTOMOTIVE- We are a specialized shop that does allot of heavy line diesel and gas repair. We are currently looking to fill 2 positions in the shop. Elite is currently looking for an apprentice and technician. The roll of an apprentice is to help a seasoned technician with daily tasks and get free training to become a technician for elite automotive. Elite pays the apprentice $18 to $30 an hour at 40hrs a week. The technician takes all the flagged hours for helping train a future elite automotive technician. The shop does have allot of ford vehicles present during repairs. Ford background is a bonus. We are an honest shop looking to expand. The front of house is very experienced at selling jobs and very few jobs leave without repairs being made. We know how valued skilled advisors are at Elite automotive.
