An Automotive Content Editor is responsible for reviewing, editing, and sometimes creating written content related to the automotive industry. Their main duties include ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and readability of articles, reviews, news pieces, and other materials about cars and automotive trends. They often collaborate with writers, photographers, and subject matter experts to produce engaging and informative content for websites, magazines, or marketing materials. Additionally, they ensure that all content adheres to the publication's style guidelines and is up-to-date with the latest industry developments.

Visionary Brands, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Hybrid Video Content Creator with expertise in videography, photography, and editing to produce engaging, high-quality content for eCommerce and social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and more.

This role is ideal for a creative professional who combines technical skill with a strong understanding of social media trends and automotive culture. Automotive industry experience or a demonstrated passion for cars is essential, as familiarity with the industry helps create content that resonates with our target audience.

The Video Content Creator will plan, shoot, and edit dynamic videos for product marketing, brand storytelling, and paid campaigns-helping to grow engagement, brand awareness, and conversions. A large focus of this role involves producing step-by-step "How-To Install" videos that educate and engage our customers across websites and YouTube channels. You'll manage projects from concept to publication while collaborating with our in-house marketing team to ensure all content aligns with brand strategy and visual standards.

This role offers the opportunity to grow into a Senior Video Producer or Creative Lead, with autonomy to experiment, innovate, and directly shape the visual direction of our brands.

Key Details

  • Position Type: Full-Time, Hybrid (On-Site Filming Required)
  • In-Person Requirement: Typically 3 to 4 office days per week
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, combining in-office collaboration with flexible remote editing time.
  • Typical Office Ratio: Approximately 60% in-office with flexibility based on active production schedules.
  • Night & On-Location Shoots: Up to 12 night shoots per year, on or off-site, may be required to capture optimal lighting or specific product conditions.
  • Location: Must be local or able to reliably commute to West Berlin, NJ.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio of relevant content must be submitted prior to interview consideration.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Production (Execution)

  • Plan, shoot, and edit both short-form and long-form video content for social media and eCommerce platforms.
  • Produce high-quality "How-To Install" videos, product features, and unboxings with clear instructional visuals.
  • Develop scripts and supporting copy for video content, including instructional, product-focused, and promotional videos.
  • Capture professional product photos and dynamic b-roll for use in advertising and digital campaigns.
  • Operate and maintain studio and field equipment (lighting, camera, audio, stabilizers, sliders, etc.).
  • Execute up to 15 nights or on-location shoots per year to achieve optimal lighting and aesthetics.

Content Strategy (Planning & Collaboration)

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Design, and Paid Media teams to align visual content with campaign goals.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar based on product launches, seasonal promotions, and brand priorities.
  • Research and adapt to social media trends, ensuring content is optimized for each platform's best practices.
  • Write SEO-optimized titles, tags, and descriptions to increase video visibility and engagement.
  • Contribute creative ideas to help evolve our video storytelling and brand identity.

Post-Production (Optimization & Quality Control)

  • Edit videos with precision and creativity, applying transitions, captions, color correction, and audio design.
  • Adapt and refine scripts throughout the production and editing process, revising wording, pacing, and structure as needed to fit the filmed content and final edit.
  • Ensure narration, voiceover, on-screen text, and captions accurately align with the final video and provide a clear, cohesive viewer experience.
  • Incorporate simple motion graphics and on-screen text for clarity and brand consistency.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet visual standards, maintain brand tone, and are optimized for fast load times and mobile viewing.
  • Manage file organization, backups, and content archiving efficiently.

Equipment & Software Management

  • Maintain and organize all studio and field equipment to ensure readiness for shoots.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom) or comparable tools for editing and finishing.
  • Operate both handheld and tripod-based cameras for flexibility in shot composition.

Studio Resources & Equipment

Our in-house studio is fully equipped to support high-quality, creative production work. Tools include:

  • Sony A7S III and Sony A7 V cameras for cinematic and professional-grade image capture.
  • Prime and zoom lenses to cover a wide range of creative perspectives and visual styles.
  • DJI Ronin 3-Axis Stabilizer for smooth, cinematic motion.
  • Edelkrone Motorized Slider for dynamic movement and precision framing.
  • Vehicle-mounted camera rig for motion and rolling footage.
  • Automotive lifts (2-post, 4-post, motorcycle, and trike) for elevated and undercarriage filming.
  • Professional lighting, audio, and post-production tools, including dedicated recorders and high-performance editing setups with a 16-inch MacBook Pro and ThunderBay external storage systems.

We provide everything you need to produce professional, educational, and visually compelling "How-To Install" videos and other creative content.

What We're Looking For

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance after 60 days.
  • 401(k) Plan with Safe Harbor Match (100% of first 3% of salary deferral, plus 50% of next 2%).
