Job description

Make Ready / Car Washer

The Make Ready / Car Washer readies and details the vehicle for customer delivery. The Make Ready Car Wash tech is responsible for vehicle cleaning and detailing as well as overall make-ready preparation for customer delivery.

Skills / Qualities Preferred Include:

  • This position will also have duties that include sweeping, emptying trash, and more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Details the vehicle by cleaning new and used vehicles including washing vehicle exterior and vacuuming vehicle interiors.
  • Perform detailed cleaning, as needed, of interior and exterior of vehicle including spot stain removal of upholstery, rugs and exterior surfaces; use special purposes cleaners and agents for desired results.
  • Inspect vehicle interior and exterior thoroughly.
  • Verify all accessories and options are functional (install if needed)
  • Remove any shipping materials left on or in vehicle.
  • Set radio, clock, compass, fuel economy readings, etc.
  • Apply Mac Haik decals.
  • Check and add all fluids as necessary.
  • Fill fuel tank to designated levels.
  • Test drive vehicle.
  • Deliver vehicle packet to designee with keys labeled with location and mileage.
  • Meet customer service standards by achieving 'above district' customer service information 'CSI' scores.
  • Follow established safety protocols; report any shop equipment in improper working condition; immediately report safety incidents.
  • Understand, keep informed of, and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right-to-know.
  • Safeguard dealership assets and customer data.
  • Complete required training assigned through the company training portal.
  • Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule.
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions to uphold the Mac Haik Automotive group brand.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive detailing preferred
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening
  • Authorization to work in the USA
