Job description

General Summary

The Camera Systems team is responsible for the design, development, and integration of camera features across Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms. This role focuses on Essential Camera Features, including HDR, low‑light imaging, tone mapping, stabilization, noise reduction, and ML‑assisted imaging solutions. The engineer will work on algorithm development and end‑to‑end system integration to deliver scalable, high‑quality camera solutions for commercial products.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop camera system algorithms for essential imaging features including HDR, low‑light enhancement, tone mapping, stabilization, and noise reduction.
  • Integrate algorithms into end‑to‑end camera pipelines across ISP, DSP, GPU, and CPU.
  • Optimize solutions for performance, power, latency, and scalability across platforms.
  • Support feature enablement and customization for customer programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive feature adoption and commercialization.
Minimum Skills
  • Masters/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong background in image processing, computer vision, or camera systems.
  • Experience with camera features such as HDR, tone mapping, noise reduction, or stabilization.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and at least one of Python or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and their application to imaging systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ISP‑based camera pipelines.
  • Exposure to ML‑assisted or hybrid ISP imaging solutions.
  • Experience supporting camera features across multiple platforms or product generations.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work on complex system‑level features.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Pay Range and Other Compensation & Benefits

Pay range: $122,500.00 - $183,700.00. The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code. In addition to salary, Qualcomm offers a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunities for annual RSU grants. Benefits include a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees at work, at home, and at play.
