Job description

Position Summary
Our Quick Coupling Division is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help support process improvements and automation. In this role, you will work to develop state of the art assembly processes and utilize semi-automated equipment to promote Mistake Proofing for the quick connect couplings we build. This role will work will production team members and leaders to create new and innovative solutions that increase production volume and quality.
What Is a Quick Coupling?
Parker's Quick Coupling Division is the largest manufacturer of quick couplings in the world. A quick coupling is used to provide a fast, make-or-break connection of fluid or gas transfer lines. Our plants provide critical equipment for many different industries including Agriculture, Construction, and Fire & Rescue teams.
Responsibilities
  • Improve process reliability to improve up-time and reduce cost.
  • Start-up of new machines and automations.
  • Troubleshooting of process issues.
  • Make corrections and update drawings together with the design department.
  • Resolve quality problems in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Project management and process development of new Assembly Cell design or changes.
  • Statistical planning during assembly development phase.
  • Investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.
  • Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other Departments regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Familiar with the 10 Step Problem Solving Process and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Planning and improving production results with regards to safety, quality, and scrap.
  • Training of workforce (Operators and Assemblers) in process and machine operation.
  • Development of new production processes, inspection plans, & work instructions for set-up standards.

Qualifications
  • 4 year college degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Automation and Machine Design
  • 5 plus years of related experience with manufacturing process development and improvement.
  • Experience with automation in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • 3 plus years of experience in AutoCad and Inventor.
  • 3 plus years with Error or Mistake Proofing with the ability to build Quality into Machine designs.
  • Basic knowledge of ladder logic for PLC Controls. (Preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. (Preferred)
