Test Engineer (Contract)

Location: Bellevue, WA or Everett, WA (100% Onsite) Company: System One Pay Rate: $52.00 - $85.00/hour Position Type: Contract

Position Overview

System One is seeking a Test Engineer to support cutting-edge testing and research activities for advanced nuclear energy technology. This position is responsible for supporting the design, planning, execution, and documentation of engineering tests in a research and development environment. The selected candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, scientists, and technicians to ensure testing is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative technologies while working in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing test requirements, test plans, test procedures, and test designs.
  • Support the design and development of test components and experimental equipment.
  • Execute engineering tests and document testing activities.
  • Analyze test data and prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Support the setup, commissioning, and operation of laboratory and experimental equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians to ensure testing objectives are achieved.
  • Assist with research and development activities supporting advanced engineering programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout all phases of testing.
  • Promote continuous improvement and support implementation of engineering best practices.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with established procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in testing, engineering, research, or product development environments preferred.
  • Experience working in laboratory or research environments.
  • Experience supporting R&D, acceptance, validation, qualification, or performance testing.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and documenting experimental data.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
