Job Summary:
The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, deploying, and supporting PLC-based control systems across manufacturing and distribution operations. This role focuses on enterprise level automation, ensuring reliable system performance, rapid troubleshooting, and continuous improvement aligned with operational needs and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Develop and support HMIs and SCADA systems (Ignition preferred).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues in live production environments
  • Support plant operations to improve uptime, quality, and performance
  • Assist in execution of automation and capital improvement projects
  • Collaborate with plant personnel, maintenance, and engineering teams
  • Maintain and improve control system documentation and standards
  • Apply safety standards and best practices to all automation solutions
  • Identify and implement process improvements using automation technologies

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley or Siemens)
  • Experience supporting industrial control systems in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years of relevant experience (a combination of education and experience equivalent to 3 years in a related field will be considered.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ignition SCADA experience
  • Basic understanding of system integration (OPC, SQL, networking)
  • Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., Yaskawa Motoman / MLX)
  • Exposure to AGVs/AMRs or automated material handling systems
  • AutoCAD 2D experience
