Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Automation Supervisor to lead our automation and robotics initiatives within our manufacturing operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial automation systems, including robotic systems such as Fanuc robots, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interface (HMI) configurations, and industrial control networks. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of industrial electrical and mechanical systems, along with experience in lean manufacturing principles. As an Automation Supervisor, you will drive continuous improvement efforts by leveraging your expertise in robotics engineering, PLC programming, and industrial automation to optimize production efficiency and ensure operational excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs utilizing ladder logic (LD), ensuring seamless integration with industrial controls and distributed control systems.
  • Configure and optimize human-machine interface (HMI) systems for effective operator interaction and system monitoring.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to industrial electrical systems, schematics interpretation, and automation equipment troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement lean manufacturing techniques that enhance process efficiency while adhering to CGMP standards.
  • Oversee the integration of vision inspection systems and other advanced automation tools to improve quality control.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of schematics, wiring diagrams, toolings, and blueprint reading for all automation projects.
  • Provide technical guidance on robotics engineering topics such as robot programming, industrial equipment troubleshooting, and industrial controls.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all phases of automation projects.
  • Support continuous training initiatives for team members on new automation technologies and best practices.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, schematics reading/interpretation, and electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), PLC system installation, repair, programming in engineering contexts.
  • Familiarity with human-machine interface (HMI) configuration and HMI systems management.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles combined with experience implementing process improvements.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, tooling setup, machining processes, SolidWorks CAD software usage preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex industrial equipment issues efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams effectively.
  • Relevant certifications or training in robotics engineering or industrial automation are highly desirable.
