Contract Manager, Technology and Reporting

The Manager, Technology and Reporting is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining the organization’s current reporting requirements while assessing and improving its reporting, data, and business technology capabilities.

The successful candidate will ensure that regular operational, financial, performance, and funder reporting continues to be completed accurately and on time. At the same time, they will review existing systems, reports, data sources, and processes to identify gaps, duplication, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Working directly with corporate and operational teams, the Manager will develop and implement practical solutions that streamline reporting, reduce manual work, improve data quality, and provide leaders with more timely and useful information. This position requires someone who can manage immediate reporting needs while building a more efficient, standardized, and sustainable reporting environment.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:

  • Review existing reporting processes and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and standardize reporting.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and operational, financial, and performance reports.
  • Use R and other reporting tools to analyze data, automate recurring reports, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of reporting.
  • Consolidate information from multiple systems, spreadsheets, databases, and business units.
  • Develop standardized data definitions, reporting templates, and processes.
  • Improve data quality through validation, reconciliation, documentation, and exception reporting.
  • Work directly with leaders and operational teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets and duplicate data entry.
  • Support the implementation, integration, and improvement of business systems and reporting platforms.
  • Identify appropriate uses of artificial intelligence and automation to improve reporting, analysis, documentation, and administrative processes.
  • Develop procedures, training materials, and documentation to support sustainable reporting practices.
  • Provide training and support to employees using Power BI, reporting tools, and related technology.
  • Manage reporting and technology improvement projects from requirements gathering through implementation.
  • Maintain appropriate data security, privacy, access controls, and governance practices.
  • Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support related to reporting systems, data, and business applications.

Contract Deliverables:

During the 12-month contract, the Manager will be expected to:

  • Complete an assessment of current reporting systems, processes, and priorities.
  • Develop a practical reporting and technology improvement plan.
  • Automate and streamline priority recurring reports.
  • Implement standardized Power BI dashboards for key organizational performance measures.
  • Improve the reliability, consistency, and accessibility of organizational data.
  • Establish clear documentation, data definitions, and reporting procedures.
  • Train internal employees to maintain and use the new reports and processes.
  • Recommend a sustainable long-term approach to reporting, analytics, and business technology.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in information systems, data analytics, computer science, business, finance, or a related field.
  • Significant experience developing reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience using R for reporting, data analysis, visualization, or process automation.
  • Experience working with data from multiple systems, databases, APIs, and spreadsheets.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, data transformation, reporting design, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrated experience automating and improving manual reporting processes.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or similar tools would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence tools and their practical application in reporting, analytics, and business processes would be an asset.
  • Experience working in a multi-site, multi-program, healthcare, social services, government-funded, or not-for-profit organization would be an asset.

Contract Term

This is a full-time, 12-month contract position. The role may require occasional travel to organizational sites and flexibility to work with teams across different programs and locations.
