Automation and Maintenance Manager - Manufacturing Automation - Base Salary to 130k/year - Eau Claire, WI

  • Our client is an established manufacturer of industrial equipment serving customers across multiple manufacturing markets. They are known for their commitment to quality, innovation, and employee development and are seeking an experienced Automation and Maintenance Manager to lead automation initiatives while overseeing manufacturing equipment and facility maintenance operations.
  • This position is responsible for leading automation engineering, manufacturing engineering, and maintenance teams while driving process improvements, equipment reliability, and manufacturing efficiency throughout the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of automation engineers, manufacturing engineers, and maintenance personnel.
  • Oversee the daily operation, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of manufacturing automation systems and production equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate automation opportunities, define project requirements, and support implementation efforts.
  • Develop automation strategies, process improvements, and standardized engineering practices for manufacturing operations.
  • Create and maintain Process Flow Drawings (PFDs) and support process design activities.
  • Perform flow design calculations to support manufacturing system performance and process optimization.
  • Support the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of automated manufacturing systems.
  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment and facility assets.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, uptime, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across automation, maintenance, and manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure maintenance and automation activities are performed safely and in accordance with company standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of automation engineering experience.
  • Leadership experience within a manufacturing automation or robotics automation environment.
  • Experience developing Process Flow Drawings (PFDs).
  • Ability to perform flow design calculations.
  • Experience leading automation projects supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Experience supervising or leading engineering and maintenance personnel.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering, production, and maintenance teams.

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 120k - 130k/year range
  • 15% annual bonus opportunity
  • 3-4 weeks PTO
