Description

Responsible for the design, implementation, testing and customer-site commissioning of controls equipment, machinery, software and automation systems working in a project team environment.


Responsibilities
  • Develops control and automation system designs by studying project concepts, objectives and requirements while evaluating products, technologies, and systems to meet project and customer specifications.

  • Develops automation design plans by researching, analyzing, selecting and applying engineering concepts, control systems, robotics, PLCs, and other automation equipment.

  • Designs and implements software for PLCs (Programable Logic Controllers), Robots, HMIs (Human Machine Interface) and other automation equipment based on project scope and requirements.

  • Implements automation systems designs by providing installation, start-up/commissioning, and technical support.

  • Verifies and validates system design performance by establishing and executing system test standards. Building and testing simulations and models while conducting compatibility evaluations and analyzing data to identify and resolve performance problems.

  • Documents engineering design by recording design features, functions operational requirements along with detailing safety and support requirements and operating procedures.

  • Provides updates to project manager pertaining to status of activities, performance to schedule and to budget.

  • Continual learning by tracking and understanding emerging technologies and practices.

  • Participate in proposal development activities.

Interpersonal
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with internal team and customer for assigned projects.

  • Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction and customer satisfaction.

  • Obtains product and system technical information and keeps up-to-date with current and new technologies.

Business
  • Builds relationships at the technical and professional level with I-C Automation's customers and vendors.

  • Execute and lead technical execution of projects.

  • Provide support for proposal efforts or customer presentations.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline.

  • At least two years of experience in controls engineering related to automation systems.

  • Experience conducting system installation and commissioning activities.
