Job description

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (a taxpaying, not-for-profit health plan) is hiring an RPA Team Lead. In this fully remote role, you’ll lead a newly established Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team that partners with embedded AI Workflow Engineers (AWEs) to design and deliver agentic automation solutions. Success in this role looks like improved efficiency, scalability, and outcomes for the 3.4 million members and communities we serve. Ideal candidates will bring: RPA expertise (preferably including UiPath proficiency) 2+ years of people management experience (although the team will consider strong individual contributors who are ready to make the move into a leadership role) Evidence of strong communication skills and business acumen (as maintaining cross-functional partnerships and the ability to bring clarity in areas of ambiguity are integral to the role) Notes: Sponsorship is not available for this role. Although this is a remote opportunity, final onsite interviews at our Chattanooga, TN, headquarters will be required. We are unable to hire candidates living in California, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of a team with a focus on the maintenance and development of systems and supervising system modifications.
  • Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work.
  • Provides staff management oversight including hiring, promoting, or making recommendations for staff.
  • Conducts performance reviews and assessments, manages performance, engages in skills assessment, and promotes professional development of staff.
  • Directs, motivates, and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth, and ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
  • Ensures adherence to policies, plans, objectives, budgets and staffing allocations.
  • Manages and tracks team-level project details and serves as the technical subject matter expert and provides leadership during periods of transition.
  • Employees may be required to participate in a weekly on-call rotation.
Job Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience 5 year - Experience with information technology concepts, application development and/or enterprise system maintenance methodology, terminology, and standards required.
  • Experience 5 years – Systems maintenance and/or programming experience required.
  • 3 year - Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language and/or one enterprise system in use at BCBST.
  • Skills\Certifications: Knowledge of information technology concepts, methodology, terminology, and standards.
  • Proven Skill to develop and/or maintain an enterprise IT system.
  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in one or more enterprise IT systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Microsoft Office and email skills are required.
  • Adaptive to high pace and changing environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers.
  • Must be willing to adjust schedule to plan and perform maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours and be part of an on-call rotation.
