Job Summary:
American Credit Acceptance is seeking a forward-thinking leader to build and operate a modern, AI-enabled Cloud Platform Engineering organization. This role involves owning the strategy and execution of the AWS cloud platform while leading a team responsible for design, governance, automation, and operational excellence of the AWS ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of AWS Architects, SREs, DevOps, and Platform Engineers.
• Define and maintain the AWS multi-account architecture, network topology, and cloud governance model.
• Own administration and operational excellence of AWS including identity, networking, compute, storage, and security services.
• Establish enterprise standards for Terraform/CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, and GitOps workflows.
• Design and operate the Internal Developer Platform including CI/CD templates, reusable modules, and golden paths.
• Standardize Kubernetes (EKS) cluster architecture, operations, and lifecycle management.
• Drive automation for Windows and Linux server provisioning and configuration.
• Implement AI-assisted practices for incident analysis, log analysis, and operational troubleshooting.
• Implement and govern observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices.
• Partner with Security to embed vulnerability management and compliance into platform workflows.
• Lead cloud cost optimization, capacity planning, and financial accountability initiatives.
• Evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies that improve platform reliability and developer productivity.
• Collaborate with application teams, QA, networking, and business units to align platform capabilities with business needs.
• Serve as a thought leader and evangelist for modern, AI-enabled Cloud Platform Engineering.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering teams.
• 3+ years of experience owning and operating AWS platforms supporting mission-critical applications.
• Deep expertise in AWS architecture and administration, including: EC2, EKS, ECS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, VPC design, Transit Gateway, Route 53, Load Balancers, NAT, PrivateLink, IAM, Organizations, Control Tower, SCPs, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub.
• Strong experience implementing and governing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Enterprise-level proficiency administering GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise, and GitOps workflows.
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS), Docker containers, and cluster operations.
• Experience with JFrog Artifactory or similar artifact repositories.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, CDN, HTTP, WAF, OAuth, SAML, SCIM.
• Experience implementing observability platforms across logs, metrics, traces, and infrastructure telemetry.
• Familiarity with static and dynamic code analysis tools such as SonarQube, EndorLabs, StackHawk, or similar.
• Practical exposure to AI-assisted engineering tools and interest in applying AI to DevOps and platform operations.
• Experience in regulated environments (financial services preferred).
