Job description

Position Summary...What you'll do...We’re looking for a Manager, Automation Engineer to help deliver next-generation automation programs across Walmart Supply Chain Fulfillment. In this role, you’ll help manage multiple workstreams as projects move from concept through implementation and scale-up in next-gen fulfillment center builds. What you’ll do:
  • Own project execution for assigned automation initiatives, including planning, tracking, and status reporting across multiple timelines.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for implementation and design workstreams, coordinating with internal technology partners and operations.
  • Support automation system design by assessing tasks for automation potential, evaluating solution options, and helping analyze space/cost requirements.
  • Support automation integration by documenting implementation plans, preparing integration tests, and measuring results against test criteria.
  • Partner with vendors: support budgetary responsibilities, assist with purchase order (PO) needs, coordinate deliverables, and participate in system sign-offs.
  • Apply process flow design methods to analyze workflows, interpret logistics processes (inbound/outbound), and recommend improvements.
  • Use data and digital literacy skills to explore moderately complex data, develop/test hypotheses, and present insights that influence decisions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen concepts to identify efficiency opportunities.
What you’ll bring:
  • Strong engineering fundamentals across mechanical, electrical, and software concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects with guidance; comfort producing project plans, estimates, and standard status reports.
  • Working knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes (inbound/outbound) and how automation impacts operations.
  • Strong influential communication skills: can organize thoughts, present clearly, and use data/facts to support recommendations.
  • Demonstrated coachability—open to feedback, eager to learn, and able to close skill gaps with support.
Nice to have:
  • Exposure to controls systems, wiring schematics, or troubleshooting automation equipment.
  • Experience updating or interpreting CAD drawings.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and basic analytics (trends, outliers, correlations).
  • Experience supporting vendor coordination, implementation documentation, or integration testing.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
