The APTM (Assembly Packaging Testing Manufacturing) Quality Engineering Manager will report into the APTM Q&R Manager and is accountable for end-to-end Manufacturing Quality leadership across APTM. The role will have direct responsibility for Quality programs and culture across FSO, Bumping, Wafer Level Assembly, EMIB, Base Wafer, Die Prep, Hybrid bonding, Optical packaging, Silicon photonics and Assembly Test Development (ATD) processes, spanning Arizona, Oregon, and New Mexico. They will also have dotted line responsibility for Quality programs across ATM sites to ensure consistency of integrated Quality programs across APTM as a whole.

In this role, you will lead and manage Quality Program Managers and Quality Program Engineers located in Arizona, Oregon, New Mexico and work in partnership with Quality Managers in ATM. You will be responsible for driving In Factory Quality programs across all the above Intel Foundry sites, ensuring consistent execution of Quality systems, processes, and culture. Additionally, you will be responsible for adapting the quality systems around the new development around advanced packaging.

This position requires strong cross functional leadership and partnership with Foundry Central Services (FCS), including Supplier Quality & Reliability (Q&R) for Equipment, Materials, Contract Services (CS) and Automation teams, to drive supplier improvement programs that directly impact manufacturing performance.

The APTM Quality Engineering Manager is the leader and coach of the Quality Review Boards (QRBs) and is accountable for driving strategic, systemic improvements based on lessons learned from major quality events impacting Foundry manufacturing using 8D standard. You will also be responsible in partnership with Factories for delivering world class Quality KPI's such as LY, CpK, 8D CAPA and 8D closure, Time to Detection and Shared Lessons Learned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Quality Program Managers and Quality Program Engineers across Chandler, Oregon, and New Mexico.
  • Drive Foundry Manufacturing Quality Programs and Quality Systems across WLA and downstream assembly and test processes.
  • Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve Quality business processes, infrastructure, and execution to drive sustained performance improvement.
  • Lead excursion management, root cause analysis, and prevention strategies, ensuring robust corrective and preventive actions.
  • Champion site wide quality culture and mindset, including training, coaching, and engagement across manufacturing organizations.
  • Integrate and deploy Quality automation system requirements consistently across all Intel Foundry sites.
  • Analyze quality performance across multiple dimensions, define improvement strategies, and ensure disciplined execution.
  • Partner closely with FCS Supplier Q&R (Equipment, Materials, CS) to drive supplier quality improvement initiatives that impact manufacturing yield, reliability, and robustness.
  • Lead and govern Quality Review Boards (QRBs), ensuring effective escalation, alignment, and decision making on major quality issues.
  • Drive Foundry level strategic improvements based on lessons learned from significant quality events.
  • Partner with Customer Facing quality teams across a wide range of Intel Foundry's customers.
  • Represent Foundry Manufacturing Quality in cross site, cross functional, and VF level forums.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience leading quality programs, systems, and cross organizational initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with supplier quality organizations and driving supplier improvement programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing major quality excursions and systemic improvement efforts.
  • Ability to build working relationships across Foundry Manufacturing, FCS, and Quality organizations.
  • An understanding of Industry standard Quality & Reliability support expectations.
  • Deep knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, assembly, substrate and test processes preferred.
  • Experience in supporting Foundry customers preferred

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of Fab or Assembly manufacturing experience with strong understanding of process control systems and methodologies.
  • 5+ years of people management experience leading technical teams with demonstrated results.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $191,220.00-269,950.00 USDThe range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations.
