Job description

Connoisseur Media – East Texas is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented part-time Board Operator/On-Air Personality to join our team in Tyler! If you’re passionate about radio, love being behind the scenes, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, we want to hear from you.

You’ll help keep our station La Invasora 96.7 (KOYE-FM amp; KTLH-FM) sounding its best by running live and pre-recorded programming with precision and professionalism. This position's hours are during nights and weekends for events and remotes. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in broadcasting on an as-needed basis.

No experience? No problem! We’ll provide hands-on training to help you learn the ropes and grow your skills in radio operations.

Responsibilities of this position may include the following:
  • Operate on-air console and audio controls as needed, including nights and weekends.
  • Monitor station transmitters.
  • Accurately log discrepancies.
  • Maintain studio equipment and logs.
  • On-air work consistent with remote setup and broadcasting during breaks as needed, including weekends and nights.
  • Facebook amp; Twitter posting as requested.
  • Understand the procedures to follow in case of a computer crash or loss of broadcast signal.
  • Communicate with the station Program Director in the event of any concerns, issues, or problems with the broadcast.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for this position include the following:
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the EAS system and legal requirements.
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels.
  • Proficient in running radio automation systems.
Preference may be given to candidates who have the above experience plus the following:
  • Previous experience in commercial or non-commercial broadcast media.
  • Experience operating automation systems.
  • Experience running radio automation systems, such as Marketron.
