The Senior Manager, Automation Engineering plays a critical role in shaping the future of Walmart’s eCommerce fulfillment network. This is a design & deployment focused role that blends strategy, engineering, and execution—driving how facilities evolve into next-generation automated environments supporting same-day and next-day delivery capabilities. You will lead automation initiatives using Walmart’s proprietary fulfillment solutions while developing long-term strategies to improve performance across the network. This is a high visibility role with end-to-end ownership across the project lifecycle. This is an ideal role for someone who can thrive with ambiguity, can influence cross functional teams and able to bring teams together.
About the team:
The Senior Manager, Automation Engineering is part of the Walmart Supply Chain Fulfillment Innovation & Automation team. This team leads the deployment of advanced technologies within fulfillment centers to support Walmart’s strategic goals. Team members oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, and communications with external automation suppliers and internal partners. Emphasizing process improvement and operational excellence, the team uses data analysis and project management to ensure smooth integration of automation solutions. Their work enhances supply chain performance and drives continuous innovation across Walmart’s fulfillment network.
What you'll do:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee project management activities ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain process flow diagrams and technical documentation to support automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain and robotics to optimize system integration.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and other engineering tools to support design and execution of automation projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to streamline workflows and reduce operational costs.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
