Engineer 1 - Substation Integration Automation (SIA)

Location: Birmingham, AL

Contract- 1 Year
Job Summary

The Engineer 1 position is assigned to the Substation Integration Automation (SIA) group and is responsible for supporting SCADA RTU systems, relay protection, control systems, and industrial networks within substations. This role requires technical knowledge of industrial control systems, computer networks, and electrical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support Substation SCADA RTU systems, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
  • Assist with substation relay protection and control system operations.
  • Work with industrial control systems, including PLCs, generation plant controls, and industrial plant controls.
  • Troubleshoot and support Operational Technology (OT) and industrial networks.
  • Utilize computer skills to manage, configure, and analyze substation automation systems.
  • Apply basic AC & DC electrical system understanding to diagnose and resolve issues.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Substation SCADA RTU knowledge.
