Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Will analyze and research engineering problems, participate in equipment or product design, test materials, devices, or machines and prepare specifications/documentation
  • Develop and document automation design standards per best practices.
  • Lead a cross functional team for Automation FATs and SATs
  • Support and provide feedback during design development on DFMs, ROM pricing, and quoting of automation equipment
  • Provide feedback to cross functional team on new automation status and condition.
  • APQP Responsibility: Develop Process Flow, PFMEA, and Standard Work Instructions for automation processes.
  • Review internal cost breakdowns to ensure standard practices are adhered to.
  • Support the capital acquisition requests for programs requiring additional assets.
  • Support Annual and Long-Range Planning of Capital Asset acquisition (1 -5 years).
  • Develop RFQ for automation capital assets on a program basis, manage from inception until authorization / integration.
  • Write and manage Capital Expenses
  • KPI accountability SOP+ 90 days on all capital asset integrations per program.
  • Support automation changes due to ECN.
  • Development and management of BDPs based on previous lessons learned and ensure adherence on future programs.
  • Function in team environment utilizing six sigma problem solving applications.
  • Training of tooling technicians on new tooling and equipment during integration.
  • Identify new potential technologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness of equipment.
  • Support operations and production to work towards implementing a SMED Strategy.
  • Support enterprise wide capacity management of capital assets.
  • Develop relationships between sales and engineering and operations team members.
  • Achieve authorization from multiple team members on new equipment per standards.
  • Support development and manage standardized tool build guidelines.
  • Attend daily Fast Response meetings and assist when feasible.
  • Support operations and production teams on other projects as assigned.
  • Travel (domestic and international travel) up to 30%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or comparable years of experience required
  • 5+ years of work experience in project management and/or automation
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Background in electronics (Allen Bradley PLCs, sensors. Keyence IV4/VS)
  • Willingness to have occasional schedule flexibility to accommodate international clients/customers/vendors
  • Vendor negotiation, preferred
  • Prior experience working with vendors/suppliers, preferred
