Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Control Engineer to take the lead in developing and managing control systems for gas plants, gate stations, and field locations. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in process control, PLC programming, and SCADA systems to drive operational excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Design & Development:

  • Develop control system drawings such as panel layouts, electrical schematics, and loop diagrams from P&IDs.
  • Create and refine PLC code using industry-standard programming languages to automate control and monitoring processes at gate stations and plants.

- Programming & Integration:

  • Configure SCADA systems to provide real-time data visualization and control over gas delivery operations.
  • Establish and maintain secure communications using ICS protocols over serial and Ethernet to ensure seamless remote control and monitoring.

- Project Management & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including Gas Control and Production Engineering, to assess system requirements and develop customized solutions.
  • Lead projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring that all systems meet safety and operational standards.

- Testing & Troubleshooting:

  • Oversee startup operations and conduct rigorous system testing to validate functionality.
  • Troubleshoot communication protocols and interface with vendors to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.

- Training & Technical Support:

  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to operations personnel to ensure seamless operation and maintenance of control systems.
  • Develop comprehensive procedures and standards for system operation and troubleshooting.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial control systems, including PLC and SCADA platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of process control theory, instrumentation, and ICS protocols.
  • Proven ability to develop wiring diagrams, control panel designs, and PLC programming from P&IDs.
  • Experience supporting the startup and commissioning of control systems for complex industrial processes.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while managing a potentially volatile commodity.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex ideas into clear, actionable solutions.

Bonus Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in natural gas or propane processing, storage, and handling environments.
  • Familiarity with gas flow measurement and control system integrity standards.

**Must be available to serve on-call on a rotating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week schedule.
