Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

Exp: 7-12 Yrs

Duration: 12+ months

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer with strong experience in Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) systems to support on-site automation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC programs, ensuring efficient operation of industrial systems, and supporting commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs using Allen-Bradley platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix)

Configure and maintain HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View or equivalent)

Perform on-site commissioning, startup, and testing of automation systems

Debug and resolve issues related to PLC logic, I/O systems, and communication networks

Integrate PLCs with field devices such as transmitters, switches, valves, motors, VFDs, and actuators

Work with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus)

Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control system documentation

Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams over calls, zoom and in-person meetings.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry’s best practices

Provide documentation, including technical reports, program backups, and change logs

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field

3+ years of hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming

Strong knowledge of RSLogix 500 / Studio 5000 (Logix Designer)

Experience with HMI/SCADA development (FactoryTalk preferred)

Solid understanding of industrial automation systems and control theory

Ability to work on-site independently and handle troubleshooting under pressure

Travel to sites and stay to complete the work.

Familiarity with industrial networking and system integration

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Safety PLC systems

Prior experience in industries such as manufacturing, oil & gas, energy, or automotive

Rockwell Automation certification is additional preference
