Job Overview

Taiga is a rapidly scaling off-road electric vehicle technology and manufacturing company seeking a Controls Engineer on our Automation Team to design, program, and implement advanced automated manufacturing technologies and equipment into our manufacturing facilities.


As a member of the Industrial Automation group, you will be part of a fast-paced and dynamic team to design and implement automated assembly equipment to manufacture Taiga's innovative powersports vehicles. Furthermore, you will interface with design and quality engineering to solve problems, improve manufacturability, and design production equipment that meets stringent time and quality demands.


The ideal candidate must have a strong motivation to learn new technologies and must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as a strong eye for detail. If you meet the criteria below, we'd love to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement industrial control systems and control panels from start to finish
  • Create detailed electrical drawings conforming to industry standards.
  • Select and integrate automation components such as industrial computers, sensors, drives, safety components, etc.
  • Perform software design and programming on various automation control systems (IPC, HMI, Industrial Robots, servo controllers...)
  • Work together with software engineering and production management to implement connected automation equipment to company tracking systems
  • Acts as liaison with manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and components to ensure all parts are manufactured to design
  • Assist in implementation, assembly, and commissioning of new machines and equipment
  • Analyze existing control systems and lead improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot automated machines and prepare / perform maintenance procedures
  • Prepare diligent documentation and collaborate with other team members both within automation and cross-functionally within Taiga

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical / Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 2-4 years experience in electrical design and Structured Text programming
  • Strong eCAD proficiency (NX Electrical experience is a strong asset)
  • Strong IPC programming proficiency (Beckhoff TwinCAT experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience with connected devices and industrial networks (EtherCAT, OPC-UA, MQTT, TCP/IP...)
  • Knowledge of industrial robot programming (Kuka preferred)
  • Experience in selection and integration of automation components, such as IPC controllers, sensors, electrical drives, etc.
  • Meticulous, attention to detail and innovative mindset
  • Good aptitude for new technologies and mechatronic systems
  • Great communication skills
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team

Nice To Have:

  • Hands on technical background in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Automotive or Powersports Industry, especially with electric vehicles

En tant que membre du groupe d'automatisation industrielle, vous ferez partie d'une equipe dynamique et evoluant a un rythme rapide, chargee de concevoir et de mettre en place des equipements d'assemblage automatises pour fabriquer les vehicules de sports motorises innovants de Taiga. Responsabilites

Concevoir et mettre en uvre des systemes de controle industriels et des panneaux de controle de A a Z
Creer des schemas electriques detailles conformes aux normes de l'industrie
Selectionner et integrer des composants d'automatisation tels que des ordinateurs industriels, capteurs, variateurs, composants de securite, etc.
Effectuer la conception logicielle et la programmation de differents systemes de controle automatises (IPC, HMI, robots industriels, controleurs servo, etc.)
Collaborer avec les equipes de genie logiciel et de gestion de production afin d'integrer les equipements automatises connectes aux systemes de suivi de l'entreprise
Agir a titre de liaison avec les fabricants et fournisseurs d'equipements et de composants afin de s'assurer que toutes les pieces sont fabriquees selon les specifications
Participer a l'implantation, a l'assemblage et a la mise en service de nouvelles machines et equipements
Analyser les systemes de controle existants et piloter des initiatives d'amelioration
Diagnostiquer les problemes des machines automatisees et preparer / effectuer les procedures de maintenance
Produire une documentation rigoureuse et collaborer avec les membres de l'equipe, tant au sein de l'automatisation qu'avec les autres fonctions chez Taiga


Exigences

Baccalaureat en mecatronique, en genie electrique / logiciel ou equivalent
2 a 4 ans d'experience en conception electrique et en programmation Structured Text
Excellente maitrise des outils eCAD (une experience avec NX Electrical est un atout important)
Excellente maitrise de la programmation IPC (une experience avec Beckhoff TwinCAT est fortement privilegiee)
Experience avec les dispositifs connectes et les reseaux industriels (EtherCAT, OPC-UA, MQTT, TCP/IP, etc.)
Connaissance de la programmation de robots industriels (Kuka de preference)
Experience dans la selection et l'integration de composants d'automatisation tels que des controleurs IPC, capteurs, variateurs electriques, etc.
