The Automation Engineer position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Outsourced Technical Services(OTS) team based out of Irvine, CA. Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) is an integral part of PM Group’s ability to support clients across the complete project life cycle. The Automation Controls Engineer is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes and utilities are maintained and operating efficiently. This individual will be leading the maintenance of control systems, identification of potential issues, and installations and upgrades.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with operations, quality, vendors, and suppliers to improve production efficiency and reduce costs
  • Support scale-up from clinical development through commercial launch
  • Drive continuous process improvement and maintain FDA-compliant documentation
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processes; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Analyze process data to identify and implement performance improvements
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics and P&ID drawings
  • Support validation activities and manufacturing projects
  • Stay current with regulatory and industry standards
  • Participate in audits/inspections and prepare required responses
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and company safety policies

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation Technology, or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in an FDA/cGMP regulated environment. 
  • Experience with DDC, DCS, PLCs, industrial networks, drives, motor controls, sensors, automation components, control instrumentation, proportional valves, servo controls, SCADA, and HMI troubleshooting is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with various types of process instrumentation and Air Handler HVAC systems 
  • Understanding of good programming standards and practices 
  • Proven ability to independently learn and troubleshoot systems and devices. 
  • Familiarity with common codes and standards, electrical circuits, and Virtual Servers/Windows Server 
  • Proficiency in basic MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

Pay Range Disclosure:
The pay range for this position is $102,000 – $120,000 annually. This range represents the base salary that PM Group reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will depend on factors such as work location, qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
