Job description

Role Summary:

We are seeking an Apprentice Instrumentation Technicians 3rd and 4th Year to join our team on various construction projects. The Apprentice Instrumentation Technician supports the delivery of safe, high-quality work with a strong focus on client satisfaction, and attention to detail, contributing to reliable results that meet and exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with, installation, testing, and calibration of industrial instrumentation, electrical, and control systems, including emissions monitoring equipment (CEMS)
  • Support the installation, and calibration of process control instrumentation such as transmitters, analyzers, control valves, controllers, PLCs, and relays
  • Assist with instrumentation work supporting power generation and industrial equipment, including gas turbines, generators, and plant auxiliary systems
  • Assist with rebuilding and calibrating instrumentation components in accordance with manufacturer specifications
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, manuals, and control system documentation
  • Support operations and coordinate with internal teams and external contractors during installations and start-ups
  • Perform all work in compliance with company values, Health & Safety standards, and OHS regulations
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Indentured 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Instrument Technician with provincial regulatory body preferred
  • Basic knowledge of industrial instrumentation and electrical principles (voltage and current)
  • Valid H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Standard First Aid (Level A or C with CPR/AED), and CSTS 2020.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
  • Exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs and basic control systems
  • Experience or familiarity with power plants, gas plants, or industrial facilities
  • Able to use test and calibration equipment and common hand tools
  • Strong communication, teamwork, initiative, and safety awareness
  • Valid driver's license
  • Flexible availability for shift work, overtime, and weekends, with a strong focus on safety and self-direction

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly wage ranging from $34.00, commensurate with experience and certification
  • Overtime opportunities paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate
