Job description

The Fuel Distribution Systems Operator receives, stores, transfers, and issues petroleum, prepares and checks receiving documents, connects lines, grounding wires, and loading and offloading arms or hoses, visually inspects each systems prior to the first use of each day; Ensures systems not being used are inspected at least once every seven days, gauges tanks for water, temperature, and fuel levels, checks pumping systems for correct operating pressure or unusual noises, performs operator inspections on fuel and distribution systems, assists in maintenance of loading and offloading area, works within a framework of established DLA policies, and procedures, or other governing supply management guidelines.
