This role explores and develops a comprehensive understanding of how a production facility operates, with a focus on assembly operations. Co-ops will examine the various manufacturing and support roles and responsibilities that enable the production system and learn how these different components work together to facilitate efficient assembly operations. Additionally, they will be responsible for innovative projects that can create a real, measurable impact on the department's initiatives. They will also champion the development and implementation of these ideas to drive continuous improvement within the production facility.
The qualified intern/Co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and implements initiatives to drive continuous improvement of processes.
  • Demonstrates quick problem solving / rapid prototyping skills for issues that may have a negative impact on process or product quality.
  • Proactively engages with production and support roles to drive effective problem-solving
  • Makes sound tactical decisions to resolve urgent matters and manages cross-functional teams in problem-solving and prevention efforts.
  • Demonstrates strategic management skills and demonstrates the ability to adapt to evolving business requirements
  • Shows initiative on exploring personal interests which will have a positive, value-added impact on the business.

Qualifications:
  • Engineering degree (preferably industrial or mechanical)
  • Detail-oriented
  • Organized
  • Effective communication skills
  • Autodesk Inventor (preferred)
  • 3D Printing experience (preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel (experience with VLookup, Macros, etc. preferred)
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE January 11th - May 14th, 2027.
  • Must be an enrolled student during all three rotations.
