As a Civil Engineer with 5+ years of experience you'll play a key role in supporting the firm and shaping projects that make a difference-from concept through completion. What You'll Doย 


With the support of the Group Leader and other civil engineers located in the Midwest this position performs a variety of duties associated with design primarily on food, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and industrial development projects and related services, to assist in achieving desired client satisfaction, and business results. ย 


This position's initial focus is to support current project work over the design and construction phases as the primary local point of contact for our client. Having an entrepreneurial drive and willingness to build relationships is strongly encouraged. Participation in applicable ASCE, NCEES, and/or community activities is preferred. ย 

  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings, reports and technical specifications
  • Design roadways, trails, parking lots, site grading, drainage and storm sewer design, sanitary sewer design, water main design, project phasing, traffic control and other site design components
  • Perform onsite construction administration and construction observation services including reporting and monitoring contractor's compliance with contract documents
  • Collaborate with other Engineers on multi-discipline teams
  • Work as a design leader in collaboration with a design teamย 
  • Manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organization and prioritization with attention to detail
  • Delegate to less experienced engineers and CAD technicians
  • Perform civil engineering design for site and land development projects, as well as design for a wide variety of public and private projects in the industrial, healthcare, education, commercial and government market sectorsย 

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering program
  • Experience: 5+ years of civil engineering
  • License/Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, or the ability to obtain license in the first 12 months
  • Demonstrated ability to be service-oriented to existing and potential clients
  • Pass drug and background screenings required for work at most client sites.
