About the Job AutoCAD Designer

Job Description:

  • This is a career position in design and project management for automatic fire sprinkler systems in commercial tenant improvement/new construction projects.
  • The person in this role will complete company sponsored training and certifications relative to those activities.
  • This position requires proficiency in AutoCAD drafting functions.
  • Applicant must also be proficient in Microsoft Office, be a good communicator, possess excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with general contractors and other subs to gather required information to design the projects sprinkler system.
  • Create detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCAD
  • Create material listings for projects
  • Perform hydraulic calculations
  • Work with other departments within the company to handover proper job information
  • Maintain organized records including but not limited to tracking of submittals, change orders, and permits.

Must Have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Commercial Fire Sprinkler Designer
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience with Bluebeam
  • Ability to perform hydraulic calculations
  • Strong communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
