What is an autobody helper?

Autobody Helpers assist technicians in repairing and restoring vehicles that have been damaged in accidents or by wear and tear. Their duties often include preparing vehicles for repair, sanding surfaces, masking parts, cleaning work areas, and helping with the removal or installation of parts. They play a crucial support role in autobody shops, ensuring that repair work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Experience with sanding, masking, paint preparation, and safety procedures is important, as is knowledge of shop equipment like spray booths and pneumatic tools. Reliability, a willingness to learn, and effective teamwork help you stand out in supporting skilled technicians and maintaining workflow. These skills ensure quality repairs, workplace safety, and efficient operations in a busy autobody shop.
