Auto mechanics may work in garages, dealerships, or auto repair shops, and they often use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. Their expertise helps keep vehicles in good working condition and extends their lifespan.

What are some common challenges faced by automotive technicians in a fast-paced service center environment?

Automotive technicians in busy service centers often encounter challenges such as managing tight repair deadlines, staying updated with rapidly evolving vehicle technologies, and effectively communicating complex issues to customers and team members. Auto and Auto body techs for Ourisman of Virginia (7 locations)

Ourisman Auto Group - Virginia

Fort Belvoir, VA โ€ข On-site

Full-time, Part-time

Retirement

Re-posted 19 days ago

Job description

Ourisman Automotive of Virginia has openings for full and part-time technicians at multiple locations.  We own and operate seven new car dealerships; we have Toyota dealerships in Fairfax and Chantilly, Kia dealerships in Chantilly and Fort Belvoir, and Ford and Lincoln, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and Chevrolet Buick GMC dealerships in Alexandria.  We also operate factory-certified body repair shops in Fairfax and Alexandria.  If you are a qualified auto or auto body technician, or if you desire an entry-level position with the career goal of becoming a master technician and you have attended, are attending, or want to attend formal training in Automotive Technology, you will like what we have to offer.  Ourisman of Virginia, in business since 1921, offers career-long stability.  Most of our master techs started with us as apprentices and have been with us for decades.  Perhaps just as important is Ourisman's commitment to promoting from within the organization which provides career growth opportunities.  Our business philosophies include "The success of the organization is based on the success of our individual associates."

Work schedules can be flexible (days and hours) if you already have other employment, educational,  and/or family responsibilities that make full time employment challenging.  Here is an example from one of our stores, Ourisman Chantilly Kia:

"We feature the largest Kia service operation in the region, and have been outselling every Kia dealership in Metro DC for 8+ years.  In addition, we typically recondition 100-150 pre-owned vehicles/month.  Unlike our competitors, our 100 loaner cars make it easy for Kia owners to select us which is another reason that we are usually very busy. Kia or Hyundai experience is preferred but not required.  Full-time positions with all company benefits include a five-day work week, paid training, paid sick leave, 401(k), etc.  Part time and entry-level positions are also available.  As you can see while driving, Kia is making tremendous strides in the market, and Ourisman (family-owned since 1921) has the premier Kia operations in Northern Virginia; there is no better team to join."

A valid driver's license and an acceptable (but not spotless) driving record is necessary.  Please do not apply if you have DUIs and/or reckless driving convictions.

For more information, text our employment center on (703) 592-0585.  Your confidentiality will be protected.
