Job description

Job Title: Mechanic

Job Type: Full-Time

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and managing DHI’s fleet, including performing preventive maintenance, oil sampling, inspecting pumps, trucks, and equipment, troubleshooting codes, and overseeing repairs by third-party vendors. The Mechanic is also responsible for managing parts and supply inventory, performing major repairs when necessary, and ensuring all tasks are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with DHI policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the maintenance program to promote reliability and reduce failures of DHIowned equipment.
  • Monitor parts inventory management by establishing minimum and maximum stock levels.
  • Oversee and manage all repairs conducted by thirdparty vendors.
  • Conduct monthly inspections on all DHIowned equipment.
  • Perform major repair work when necessary.
  • Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.
  • Clean DHI equipment and tools to ensure reliability and safe operation.
  • Ensure tools and supplies on DHI trucks are properly maintained and restocked as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation via ARI Garage.
  • Provide training to DHI field operations team.
  • Strict adherence to DHI policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects and tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations and Fleet Manager.
  • SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to DHI’s insurance guidelines.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, diesel engine problems, as well as hydraulic, centrifugal pump, and vacuum equipment, and mechanical seals.
  • Ensure oil sampling program is followed per OEM requirements.
  • Ability to understand necessary safety procedures and precautions.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems and laptops.
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of hand tools/power tools.
  • Ability to travel to offsite locations for repairs.
  • WORK SCHEDULE

    Full-time position, working Monday to Friday during the day.

    Requires a minimum of 40 hours per week, with text, email, and phone call communications from the team 7 days a week.

    Each DHI employee is responsible for conducting their job tasks in a safe and healthy manner. Employees must perform jobs in accordance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) philosophy, standards, programs, rules, and permits. Employees are expected to immediately report all incidents to a manager or Person in Charge (PIC) and to the appropriate field HSE coordinator. Employees should also actively participate in HSSE meetings and promptly correct unsafe acts and/or conditions.
