Auto Mechanic - A-Level (Commercial Roofing Group)

A-Level Auto Mechanic for a Commercial Roofing Company
Full Time, Non-Exempt

Primary Function: 

  • Works on heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

Position Summary:

  • Experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, air brake systems, and is comfortable maintaining accurate service records. This role requires a dependable, detail-oriented professional who can work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Perform work on hydraulic systems and air brake systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • A-Level mechanic certification or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience with heavy equipment (construction, fleet, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and air brake systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Good record-keeping and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred, if applicable)
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a physically demanding

Preferred Skills:

  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • CDL certification
  • Experience with diesel engines

Physical Requirements:
