Include people. Position Overview: This position performs skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of City Vehicles and various associated equipment. This work is performed under the direction of the Fleet Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities: Repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and operate various vehicles and heavy equipment (e.g., graders, loaders, plow trucks, recycling trucks). Service and rebuild landscaping, snow removal, and mowing equipment, including small engines and utility vehicles. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Rebuild and repair diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, brakes, clutches, and related systems. Adjust and calibrate components such as brakes, engines, and hydraulic/electrical systems. Perform preventative maintenance (e.g., oil changes, tune-ups, filter replacements, inspections)

Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, schematics, and repair guides. Perform metal fabrication and welding (cutting, brazing, carbon arc welding). Conduct vehicle bodywork, fiberglass repairs, painting, and detailing.

Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for all equipment. Assist the Fleet Superintendent in prioritizing repairs and maintenance schedules. Respond to emergency repair needs and perform related duties as required.

Follow all safety protocols and workplace regulations. Stay current with industry technologies through ongoing training. Maintain reliable attendance and availability for on-call emergency response.

Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent 1 to 3 years of vocational schooling in diesel engine repair, heavy equipment, auto repair, and welding Valid Wisconsin CDL is required with B, C, and D with air brake and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire Preferred Qualifications ASE Certification for heavy and medium duty diesel trucks or a combination of experience and/or formal vocational schooling totaling not less than 3 years Certification in welding (rod and wire feed), cutting torches, plasma cutters, braising, hydraulics and pneumatics, or a combination of schooling, training, and/or experience of not less than 3 years Salary and Benefits: Pay Range: $30.59- $33.96 depending on experience. Salary range reflects base to midpoint of the pay scale

Offers above midpoint require Council approval. The City of Neenah offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: Health, dental, and life insurance. Participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
