- Responsible for ensuring safety and general maintenance inspections are done on a routine schedule.
- Responsible for monitoring and evaluating vehicles checked for foreseeable repairs and service.
- Follow a weekly maintenance schedule assigned by the Shop Foreman and communicate issues that may arise.
- Responsible for performing an initial evaluation of work assignments and problematic systems requiring specific parts and service repair in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the following maintenance procedures and maintaining any required records and/or documentation of service and repairs.
- Responsible for conducting school bus/automobile test to check:
- Body systems and special equipment;
- Diesel engines;
- DriveTrains;
- Suspension and steering;
- Electrical/electronic systems;
- Engine Repair & Performance;
- Automatic Transmission;
- Manual DriveTrain and Axles;
- Responsible for maintaining equipment, inventory of materials, and avoiding excess and/or waste.
- Responsible for collaborative communication with Shop Foreman and team of mechanics.
- Comply with all safety regulations and practices on site and across the division.
- Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work completed.
- Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time.
