Job description

Northwest Respiratory Services is a leading provider of oxygen & respiratory products throughout the Midwest & Northern Rockies. Working from our Eagan, MN office, we are currently in search of a Medical Insurance Quality Assurance Specialist with experience and knowledge of many medical insurance payers. This is an onsite position taking place in our office located in Eagan, MN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and work time sensitive in-coming insurance verifications based on priority level.
  • Verify insurance benefits, prior authorizations, and required medical documentation for all applicable payers, able to problem solve any odd ball/uncommon insurances.
  • Ability to navigate insurance portals, IVR systems, etc.
  • Review documentation for validity to bill third-party payers. May include but not limited to:
    • Medical Documentation: prescriptions, progress/chart notes from different sources, oxygen saturation/sleep study results, etc.
    • Delivery Documentation received from multiple branches within NRS.
  • High level of accuracy in data entry and filing

Key Qualifications:

  • Well versed in Medical insurance/terminology/billing. Experience with HME is a plus
  • Great communication skills: written and verbal, contacting referrals, facilities, patients, etc.
  • Work individually and as a team to meet individual and departmental goals
  • Participate in individual feedback sessions, staff meetings and annual training and/or competency tests
