Job Opportunity:
The Property Insurance Association of Louisiana (PIAL) is seeking a self-motivated and well-organized individual for commercial building insurance inspections in South Louisiana. There are two open positions. The successful candidate should have a college degree and a background in property insurance, appraisals, or construction; however, PIAL is willing to train an otherwise qualified candidate. The successful candidate should also have a good driving record, strong computer skills, solid math skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, an ability to travel within the South Louisiana region, and a strong attention to detail. The position allows the individual to work from their home. Given the territories, the ideal living locations would be in the Lafayette area and the metropolitan New Orleans area. These are full-time positions. PIAL has been a trusted resource in the Louisiana insurance industry since 1888.  PIAL is dedicated to supporting fair and accurate property insurance pricing across the state. Responsibilities
    * Perform inspections on commercial buildings
    * Establish fire insurance rates
    * Produce fire insurance underwriting reports
Requirements:
    * Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related software
    * Ability to learn new software programs
    * Solid basic math skills
    * Strong typing skills
    * Ability to pay close attention to details and accurately apply judgment when needed
    * Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
    * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
    * Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision
    * Posses an upbeat, positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude

    * Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
