    • Previous experience working with children and family services is preferred.

    Licensure & Certifications:

    • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.

    • Must be at least 21 years of age.

    • Carry out goals and objectives of the kinship department.

    • Train KVC staff, agency partners and community partners in Family Finding and the importance of relative/kin connection.

    • Maintain working relationships/communication with DCF, courts and other community partners.

    • Interview and collaborate with children at the office, at placement, or in the community to gather information on possible connections for children.

    • Interview parents, caregivers and other family members to gather more information on possible connections for children.

    • Attend court hearings as necessary to build relative/kin networks for assigned clients.

    • Search for relatives through databases, online searches, social media, file mining, and through any other resources at KVC disposal.

    • Facilitate and schedule family meetings between children, their family, family connections, and professionals to develop lifetime networks and make a plan of action to meet that child’s biggest unmet need.

    • Deploy Family Finding tactics like mobility mapping, calendaring, connectedness maps, genograms, etc. to search out connections for assigned child’s network and dose the child with positive interactions.

    • Complete all required paperwork and follow agency policies and procedures within specific timeframes, to ensure a smooth paperwork flow.
