An auto detailing job involves thoroughly cleaning, restoring, and protecting a vehicle’s exterior and interior to improve its appearance. As an Auto Detailer, your daily tasks include cleaning vehicle interiors and exteriors, using specialized tools and products to wash, wax, vacuum, and polish various surfaces. You may also be responsible for stain removal, window cleaning, tire dressing, and performing routine quality inspections to ensure each vehicle meets company standards. Many detailers work in teams, often collaborating closely with service advisors or supervisors to prioritize vehicles and address specific customer requests. This role is fast-paced, and attention to detail is vital for delivering a high-quality finish and customer satisfaction. The work environment is usually a shop, dealership, or detailing center, with both indoor and outdoor responsibilities depending on the employer.
