About the Position

The Auto Glass Technician Trainee is responsible for assisting with repairs and replacements of automotive glass under the supervision of a more experienced glass technician. The experienced technician will work with the trainee to help teach the process of a quality glass repair. This position comes with most tools, uniforms, and a company vehicle to use during the workday.


This is a full-time opportunity that works during the 8:00 am – 4:30 pm time frame, Monday through Friday. We offer competitive hourly compensation, as well as medical, vision, dental, PTO, paid holidays, paid life insurance, paid volunteer program, and 401(k) with company match plan. The Auto Glass Technician Trainee will report to the Glass Manager and pay will commensurate with the chosen candidate's experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist senior glass technicians in the installation, repair, and replacement of automotive glass, including windshields, side windows, and back glass.
  • Learn to safely handle and prepare glass, adhesives, and tools in accordance with company and industry safety standards.
  • Support the setup and cleanup of work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Observe and participate in vehicle inspections to identify glass damage and determine repair or replacement needs.
  • Provided top-notch customer service to all customers.
  • Maintain a safe and satisfactory driving record according to company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical ability and aptitude required
  • Prior vehicle disassembly experience strongly preferred
  • Prior technical schooling or training related to the automotive field is preferred, but not required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a background and credit check

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift or carry large and heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
  • Standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods during service tasks
