The Auto Body Shop Collision Tech helps repair vehicles as assigned by management following all established standards and procedures. He/she delivers the highest quality body shop services while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. The Body Shop Tech must produce quality results on time and must have I-Car Certifications (Welding, Silicon Bronze, etc.)

A minimum of 2 years previous auto body shop tech experience required.

The ideal Auto Body Tech candidate will have a proven track record of auto body shop experience with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This candidate must be an exceptional producer and generate a maximum of production with a minimum of error. They must be capable of making decisions and have a high level of sound judgment. They must be extremely well organized in work habits, work area, tools, and equipment.

A current driver's license with a clean driving history and ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs work as assigned with efficiency, accuracy, and high-quality following dealership, insurance company, and enterprise standards.
  • Performs quality repairs and meets or exceeds our requirements for productivity as measured by hours per day for each repair order.
  • De-trims and disassembles vehicles, putting parts on parts carts. Performs pre-pulls to make repair vs replace decisions.
  • Approaches repair planning with a sense of urgency and detail to avoid waste and rework later in the process.
  • Assists in identifying and sourcing parts as necessary while using good judgment in determining when damaged parts can be safely repaired for cost and cycle-time savings.
  • Ensures that work areas are clean, and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored.
  • Consistently utilizes all required safety equipment and follows proper repair procedures.
  • Ensures that the required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of relevant experience required.
  • I-Car or ASE Certification (Welding, Silicon Bronze, etc.), preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions, read and follow work order assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quality conscious and detail-oriented
  • Able to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
